Standard terms of use for the Panopticare healthcare pricing platform.
Last updated: February 16, 2026
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Panopticare, you agree to these terms of service. Panopticare is a free, open-source healthcare price transparency tool provided as-is for informational purposes.
Purpose and Limitations
Panopticare provides healthcare pricing information derived from publicly available hospital Machine-Readable Files (MRFs) and payer Transparency in Coverage (TiC) files, as required by federal regulations. This information is intended for comparison and educational purposes only.
Panopticare is not a substitute for professional medical or financial advice. Prices shown are hospital-published list prices and negotiated rates — your actual out-of-pocket cost may vary based on your insurance plan, the complexity of treatment, additional services, and other factors. Always contact your insurance company and healthcare provider for a personalized cost estimate.
Data Accuracy
We make reasonable efforts to accurately process and present hospital pricing data. However, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of all information. Hospital pricing files vary in format, quality, and update frequency. Some data may be outdated, incomplete, or contain errors from the original source files.
No Warranty
Panopticare is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information provided will be accurate or complete.
Limitation of Liability
Panopticare and its contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use of or inability to use this service, including but not limited to damages arising from reliance on pricing information displayed.
Acceptable Use
You may use Panopticare for personal, non-commercial purposes including researching healthcare prices and comparing providers. Automated scraping, bulk data extraction, or redistribution of data without attribution is prohibited.
Open Source
The Panopticare software is open-source. Use of the source code is governed by its respective license. These terms of service apply to the hosted service at panopticare.com.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Panopticare after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
